“Slow Down, You Move too Fast” (Harpers Bazaar)- “You know you’ve reached middle age when you’re cautioned to slow down by your doctor, instead of by the police.” (Joan Rivers). I love to drive, but as I age, I tend to drive a little slower. I look at it this way. Everyday now is a ride toward the end of my journey. I’m not in a hurry to end this part of my trip; it will come soon enough. So I’m going to take my time, even if it is in the fast lane. What does this have to do with writing? Well, when I started my first novel, I wanted to get it done. But when I finished it, I realized that this part of my journey was over. And that was disappointing. So I have moved on to the next leg of my journey. Who knows where it might lead, but I know it’s POTENTIAL.
