“If you wrote down every single thought you ever had you would get an award for the shortest story ever.” Hm….. When I first read this, as a writer, I was offended. While I did complete an entire novel of almost 100,000 words resulting from my vivid imagination and a multitude of thoughts, I also have a lot of short stories to tell, as you may have seen from my daily blogs. The stories I tell are real and although short, I do put a lot of thought into them. They start with a single thought and grow from there. I am convinced that the writer of this quote made a very simple mistake. The award should be for the shortest stories ever. I write short stories from single thoughts. I win. So let’s give credit where credit is due. I am happy to accept this award on behalf of everyone who has ever had a single thought that resulted in a short story. 11/18
