“The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they’re okay, then it’s you.” (Rita Mae Brown) Mental illness is a serious matter and nothing to laugh at. However, as I think back about my three best friends back in college, it’s unfair to say it was any one of us in particular. We were all a little crazy back then. But one of us was probably a little more “off” than the rest. His idea of a good time was getting stoned in his 66 Ford Mustang convertible, driving to a Mickey D’s and telling me to keep the (getaway) car running as he walked in and then came running out carrying a Ronald McDonald high chair. None of us had any children that we knew of. Streaking was popular back then. It took all four of us together to gather up the crazy to streak down University Avenue with another 50 guys while cheering crowds applauded from the sidelines. And that’s the naked truth!
