Writer’s Rant

“If the first words out of your mouth are to cry ‘political correctness!’, … chances are very, very high that you are in fact part of the problem.” N.K. Jemisin
Whatever happened to PC? Political Correctness seems to apply to everyone but politicians. We civilized folks try very hard to avoid offending others who don’t think or believe the same way that we do. And while we may not all be voting alike, there is one thing we can all agree on: ENOUGH WITH THE POLITICAL ADS. They have even invaded sacred ground: Sunday football.
I and many others have early voted. I did so, not because I was so excited to cast my vote(s) that I couldn’t wait, but somehow I led myself to believe that if I voted early, the campaign rhetoric would follow along and quit pissing me off. But no, the political ads continue ad-nauseum. It wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t so negative. After all, if each politician focused on what they have actually accomplished, we would all be better educated for it. And possibly make better choices….But wait….what real choices are there?
All I’ve really learned this election season is a lot of negative stuff about our candidates., which leads me to this conclusion: It would make much more sense to vote for “the biggest loser”. That is, the candidate we hear and believe the most negative comments about, we should vote for. And whoever gets the fewest votes- wins.
And now a word from our sponsor: A US Senator running for re-election once said this: ” I grew up castrating hogs, so when I get to Washington, I know how to cut pork”. Now that’s an ad I can listen to!
