“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else, is the greatest accomplishment.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson). I’m sorry but I am confused. I don’t understand all these new pronouns, which aren’t really new by the way. They have been around for years. So why are we, the majority by far, being told we have to use the right pronouns for people? Why don’t they skip the pronouns and make up new names? There is no originality in what they are doing and if they want to really identify as “something else”, come up with a proper noun for who they are or how they want to be referred to. Be original. Don’t take my pronouns away. And don’t get mad at me in the grocery store line when I refer to you as him or her. If you look like a him or her, that’s how I will refer to you. It’s my right to do so. They can be anything they want and they can call themselves anything they want. I don’t care. They can identify themselves as “something else.” But don’t expect me to readily identify with who they are. The woke world is trying to change the real world into something else. But I’m just going to be myself and not change just because they want me to. And in today’s world, that is the greatest accomplishment. 1/26/24
